Petersen Games FREE Gift for the Holidays!

Ho Ho Ho!!!

As our thank you for being such great fans and supporters, we have wrapped a special gift for the Holidays: a FREE RPG adventure for Call of Cthulhu (7th edition).

As you know, Chaosium recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of Sandy creating the Call of Cthulhu RPG, and he thought you might enjoy this original adventure to celebrate the Holiday Season.

If you haven’t played Call of Cthulhu yet you really should check it out!
Or maybe you already know a Keeper (GM) you could “gift” this adventure to run it for you.

A Call of Cthulhu Scenario for 2-4 Investigators

By Mark Hart

The events in this scenario occur over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day any year during the 1920s, although the Keeper can set these events in other eras without much difficulty.

An urgent telegram from an old ally sends the investigators to a midwestern town in search of a stolen Mythos tome, a volume of The Revelations of Gla’aki. Once the investigators arrive, they uncover evidence someone has used the book to unleash something dark, dangerous, and ravenous upon the community.

Announcing Sandy Petersen’s Cthulhu Mythos – Brown Jenkin Edition

In team meetings earlier this year, some of our RPG fans expressed an interest in creating a pocket edition of SPCM for 5e. It would be more portable, less expensive, and easier to reference quickly. It also makes a great gift!

Anouncing Sandy Petersen’s Cthulhu Mythos for 5e: Brown Jenkin Edition!

This miniature soft-bound version has been submitted to the printer and is expected to arrive hopefully on time for the holidays.

Big disclaimer: the Shipping Apocalypse is still underway and pretty much all of our projects have been delayed because of the worldwide shipping bottlenecks in major ports everywhere. But we are hoping!

Who is Brown Jenkin anyway? Brown Jenkin appears in Lovecraft’s story Dreams in the Witch House, and it is an extremely unusual entity.  It is an old fashioned type of horror – a small rat-like monster with humanoid face and paws. More like the image of a medieval witch’s familiar than a tentacled Lovecraftian thingy! See if you can find him on the cover of this new edition.

Adventure Hook by Joshua Jarman

The heroes encounter a wounded guard deep in a forest. The man tells a tale of vicious bandits, who serve a dark god, their attack on a nearby village and his narrow escape. As the players help the wounded man and return with him to his home, they find the village destroyed and its citizens captured.

Atop a nearby hill the bandits have gathered these unfortunate souls in order to sacrifice them to create an idol of Chaugnar Faugn. Will the heroes be able to save the villagers in time?

King’s Foresight (Part 1)

King’s Foresight (Part 1)

by Mark Ferguson

King’s Foresight is meant as a stand-alone adventure, providing a single session for a group of 4 or 5 characters of 5th level. There are also hooks that can be utilized if a larger campaign is preferred.

This adventure begins with the characters running into a newly mobilized army from the nearby kingdom of Zalthun. The king has sent this force — and practically all the kingdom’s defenses — out on a search for an elusive Mythos text in an act contrary to his normal character. When the adventurers arrive at the front gate, they will find enemies lurking nearby and realize that the army must be recalled — the adventuring party must somehow convince the king to do so.
