Although born to human parents, the mutant adept bears only a passing resemblance to other humanoid creatures. The mutant adept has the general shape of a humanoid with head, two arms, two hands, and two legs, but beyond that, no two mutants look quite alike. They may have tendrils, tentacles, and multiple sets of eyes, extra limbs, or bulbous tumors.
Many possess an elongated proboscis with a many-toothed maw that allows the mutant to not only grab prey but also drain blood from them for feeding. They tend to wear loose, baggy clothing to cover their mutations when they venture to the city above the catacombs.
