What’s the difference between a Bhole and a Dhole? You will be surprised at the answer!

In his recent Sandy of Cthulhu YouTube video, Sandy explains why they have different names, and what Lovecraft and others have to say about them.

I read The Dream Quest at about the same age I read The Jungle Book. The two different sorts of dhole caused six year old me a lot of confusion.

Welcome to the Arkham Files’ first-ever interview, with the Yogfather himself, Sandy Petersen! Listen in as they discuss the creation of Call of CthulhuSandy Petersen’s Cthulhu Mythos for 5e Fantasy, and everything in between!

Here are the different ways you can listen:

Scenario: Expedition

Scenario: Expedition

Call of Cthulhu Terror Paths is a tabletop cooperative experience for several players. All players take on the role of Investigators, who work together as a team. The game comes with two maps, each with wildly different scenarios. Coming in 2022.

Sandy thought you might enjoy a peek at the various scenarios that he designed for Terror Paths, his upcoming cooperative Call of Cthulhu board game. We’re also including his adventure gameplay notes.

Today’s scenario: Expedition …

Scenario: Expedition

You wake up groggy to realize that you are not at home. To your horror, you see you are in an underground cavern, tied to a slab. Humans, faces covered with black masks made of a suspicious leather (one seems to have a human nipple on it), work feverishly on machines.

“You’re awake,” one speaks with an unnameable accent.

“Our drones failed. Now we use YOU to find out why. You are equipped and armed. Discover the problem, fix it if possible, and return and report.”

When you look down at your bodies, you see you have been surgically attached to awful mechanical devices

Sandy’s Gameplay Notes

Now a prisoner of the Ancients from deep beneath the Earth, they are sending you to find out what is going wrong in the caverns. You must not only unlock the secret and solve it, but find a way to rid yourself of the slave harnesses you’ve been outfitted with.

Ultimately, you discover the Great Old One which is infesting the cavern’s nooks and crannies and must extirpate it throughout.

“This is a seminar I gave in early May about creating a horror adventure for Call of Cthulhu or, I suppose, any other horror roleplaying game.

Sorry about the sound quality  we were focused on getting the message across rather than the taping.

Hope it doesn’t ruin it for you.”    Sandy
