Planet Apocalypse: Some thoughts about the Invasion faction and the PA-CW crossover cards

I’haven’t read all the comments and posts related to the Invasion faction, so I apologize in advance if some of the topics I’ll cover in the next few lines have already been discussed elsewhere.

As we all know, during the PA2 kickstarter Sandy revealed a new official CW faction called “Invasion”, composed of the units in the base game box of Planet Apocalypse. The faction’s great old one is Baphomet, the only lord available in the PA base game. However, old backers like me remember well that during the first PA kickstarter Sandy has made available in digital format the cards for using in CW all PA units, except perhaps some of the lords added at the end of the campaing. Well, what is the relationship between the invasion faction and the previpously released PA-CW crossover cards? Probably none, given that the faction and the cards are the results of two decisions taken at years of distance to give vent to Sandy’s creativity and of course to grab more backers. Despite this, it is a fact that the hellish legions of Planet Apocalypse are about to become an integral part of the CW universe, so I think it would be nice to have an official guidance on how best to integrate the old crossover cards with the new faction. Specifically, what happens if a player using the Invasion faction recruits one of the PA-CW crossover monsters or old ones?

In my opinion, PA-CW crossover cards should work for the Invasion faction as the mask monsters/old ones work for the Crawling Chaos faction. In other words, the player who controls the Invasion faction should be able to acquire them at a discounted price, giving other players some advantage in exchange. In CW, each fourth circle demon costs 1 power/round to the owner, so in their case the savings for the Invasion faction may be simply not paying that additional power cost. Regarding the lords in the crossover cards, the Invasion faction should be able to summon them without Baphomet in play, just as it happens when Crawling Chaos summons the mask old ones. In this way, in each CW game the demons of the invasion faction could be led by a different lord, just like in the scenarios of Planet Apocalypse. Of course, if the PA-CW crossover cards become an extension of the Invasion faction, it would be nice to have PA-CW crossover cards describing the new demons and lords in PA2.
