wait are we on tabletopia or on tabletop simulator? 

 

Anyway, for right now I’m only releasing cruisers, and only for civs that A) don’t have drones and B) don’t have some weirdo aspect. I want to get the standard game working and fun. The next step is probably going to be to add drones

just added you as a friend on Steam. 

 

and was already considering using extra engine power to “boost” the engineering roll. I guess great minds think alike.  

One concern I have is that I actually want a player to win, so I’m okay with damage generally tending to accumulate – the concept is that engineering can slow your demise, and perhaps give you a chance to turn things around, but in general most damage persists.

Have a better simpler idea

same Engineering rule powered + d10 BUT you can use Dynamo to a max of 3 to boost your die roll. that way on a dynamo 2  you can repair something with a %50 probabilities 😛

The Math Thing you are suggesting for charged engineering is a bit complex for what I’d like but I will keep considering options.

Well, a successful Engineering roll heals 4 Damage at max, and max damage (If the damage track is to be believed) is 30.

Amazing play with Sandy, super fun, tks a lot,

We tested Mendeku, Broodmasters and Sandy used Old Ones, really hyped about the game indeed 😛

Okay still pondering how to change Broodmaster’s Telepath ability, and I have a good idea on how to adjust the Engineering roll. In the meantime I’ll be testing it today with Tony, my art director, and I hope Gilbert, and anyone else who wants to show up.

Making some changes to the game. Will upload them when I feel it is ready. The biggest change is I got rid of Structure. (Thanks, Tony). Also rebalanced the ships based on Nimble Rating being super important.

Hey all here is my game Hyperspace: Starship Captain, which I am posting here for y’all to look at and maybe try out. And of course incidentally giving me feedback, which you can do in this thread. If it needs more I’ll open up a whole separate forum devoted to it. 

For now, there are only a few ships and civs available for you to test, but I have designed (and tried to balance) far more. Baby steps I guess. The rules are not yet edited or anything, so I hope they’re not too confusing. 

There is a Read Me First 3file, a Playtest Rulebook 3file, both in Word. There is also a Playtest Cruisers 3.pdf and Playtest Light Ships 3.pdf. It has the hint cards, and the control panels for a number of different ships.

Apparently the version 2 of the docs is still showing up here. Not sure how to get rid of them.

you can solo it though. Just play two ships. Or perhaps we can Skype each other and play head to head. Seriously dude. I’m getting cabin fever too.

So this is a Hyperspace Universe game where you play single ship dog fighting others? Excellent, but three questions.

1) When’s the KS?

2) Are the ships going to be different between species?

3) Planned size comparison to Hyperspace?

1) the kickstarter is probably not till 2021

2) he ships are different between species. At least in their stats. If the campaign does super duper well, we may do customized versions of the cruisers and destroyers per species. 

3) the ships are intended to be the exact same models from Hyperspace. At least the super-ships. They will have different bases though – each ship will have a hex-shaped base with an arrow on one side, pointed towards the direction the ship is headed.

Got to play this last year at Gen Con. Only played once but even that one play and I was hooked. Don’t know that I’ll be able to play test this but this is a definite purchase for me.
