Good time to everyone on this forum!

I feel that recently the role of the Cthulhu Wars has seriously fallen, unlike other projects, compared to what it was years earlier.
Perhaps this is due to the fact that it already looks finished?

I would like to convey one simple thought. The Cthulhu Wars have HUGE potential for further expansion! And it DOESN’t even NEED TO RELEASE NEW MINIATURES.
Cardboard materials only.

Indeed, EVERYONE of the neutral Great Old Ones deserve its unique cult with its mechanics and monsters.
Yig with his serpent humans, Mother Hydra and Father Dagon – there are so many different fractions of the cults of the Great Old Ones that have not yet been embodied!
It would be awesome if every neutral Great Old One received his faction in the same way as happened with the Sultan of the Demons!

I hope that this message reaches the ears of Great Sandy Petersen and inspires the whole team for further developments!

thanks so much. I am sure you are aware that right now we are waiting for our manufacturers to release Daemon Sultan and Bubastis, plus their expansions. Plus we just did the Hastur Rising campaign!

And we have more planned for later this year.

Well think about it.

The Masks expansion gave us a lot more Nyarlathotep action.

Dire Azathoth gave us a neat Azathoth upgrade.

Cthulhu the Harbinger gave us an amazing Cthulhu figure with some new rules.

Hastur Rising is going to be a great new Hastur/King in Yellow combo.

Obviously we’re still missing the super-version of the remaining gods, no?

We have the Tcho-Tcho tribes for the Tcho-Tcho faction, and the Something About Cats box for Bubastus.

So Black Goat, Opener of the Way, Windwalker, Sleeper, and the Ancients need a special expansion tied to them.

Obvious, the Black Goat gets a super powerful GOO of her own, maybe specifically one that’s tied to the “Of the Woods” part of the name? I’m imagining something that places tokens all over the board, but I dunno for certain.

Opener of the Way I’ve thought about this before, when OS3 was still on Kickstarter. My idea is basically “elite” units Yog and Wilber Whateley, who act like Spawn of Yog-Sothoth and Abomination if they are summoned by OotW, and have their own powers. It’s here, although it is old and probably not good. https://boardgamegeek.com/thre…..tral-units

I do not have a concrete idea for Windwalker, at least to lore wise. I’ve tied Aphoom-Zha to WW, because of the arctic theme, but I don’t know if WW needs more GOOs. I have abdicated for the addition of Rlim Shiakorth, which has been suggested to be a Terror rather than a GOO. Again, the only ties (that I’m aware of) is a cold theme.

Sleeper, who cares?

Actually, Tsathoggua has a pretty substantial “family tree”, maybe something could be pulled from there. Sfatlicllp, Mordiggian, Zvilpogghua, or Voormi/the Voormis might work. (Side note: I know the joke is that Cthulhu Mythos Great Old Ones have names that are created by smashing a keyboard, but Tsathoggua’s family seems to be literally named that way. Exactly how would one pronounce Hziulquoigmnzhah?)

So as far as I know, there are no plans to make new Investigators for CW. That’s a shame, because I think they are really cool and fun to saddle up an enemy with. Perhaps for an Ancients tied expansion, they can have a bunch of investigators that are cheaper the Ancients or something. In my Mythos “Heroes” homebrew (https://boardgamegeek.com/thre…..y-acolytes), I used T’la-Yub for the Ancients’ Investigator, so I don’t know if there are other K’nyanians that could be used. Really, I just want more Investigators.

On the one hand, new versions of already created ancient gods are a great upgrade of thumbnails and rules, but…

on the other hand, repacking new thumbnails as part of a new fraction (for example, Atlach-Nacha fraction) looks like many times more vivid release!

My understanding is that “Hziulquoigmnzhah” is pronounced “Throat-wobbler Mangrove”.

While we don’t currently plan more investigators, really there are all the unused investigators from PA that are still available.

New big boy later this year..?

Well it’s gotta be shub. Last of the starters at least. Shub for halloween or Ithiqua for christmas busting through some christmas-fied trees?

As an excuse to test finally having a drawing tablet, here’s a poor large spire shub.

Actually, it doesn’t HAVE to be Shub.

No basis for this, but the way it looks makes me think you’d pronounce it with a aztec style dialect, like Huitzilopochtli. Maybe ‘Zee-ool-kwo-eeg-mn-schaa’?

We won’t abandon Cthulhu Wars, for two reasons.

The Sentimental Reason: it spawned the entire rebirth of Sandy Petersen as a designer. I love it unconditionally.

The Legal Reason: for reasons I’d rather not go into, selling Cthulhu Wars to another company would be massively painful emotionally.

And to again clarify, we not only have new Cthulhu Wars stuff in the pipeline, we have HUGE Cthulhu Wars stuff in the pipeline. I mean huge conceptually, not literally.
