It’s the annual Farzeen Longshoreman competition and a large crowd has gathered along the docks and the rocky landscape by the ocean to see the ships race in! As the early morning sun starts to rise, signaling the end of the race, all eyes are fixed on the ships and don’t seem to notice the large, ominous bank of fog coming in off the horizon line, past the lighthouse. A banner for The Laughing Hammer — the local tavern and returning sponsor of the race — flaps in the wind in increasing and ominous intensity.

Meanwhile, a visiting circus has packed up and is on their way out of town via the front gate, but one of the larger wagons has broken a wheel axle and is blocking exit out the main gate and causing quite the ruckus along Main Street, which is a muddy pit from the torrential rain as of late. With the ominous bank of fog to the South and the Slopes of Kaza to the North, it seems like a chokepoint is quickly forming on the unsuspecting citizens of Farzeen. Yet the horrors that await them beneath the depths is something none of them could possibly be prepared for …
